Deer Lake Resort
 

Deer Lake Resort is a private 1150 acre retreat located in the heart of the north woods.  Open year round, this no smoking 8000 square foot, 8 bedroom, 5 full bath resort will accommodate groups of 2 to 30.  The entire resort is yours.  No one else but you on our private 40 acre lake!  Whether you are looking for a private family getaway, reunion, or business retreat, we hope you will find that Deer Lake is one of the most unique spots in the Midwest!

Our base rate listed below includes full and exclusive use of our 500 acres, our 650 acres of hunting land, the entire lodge building, and Deer Lake with all its boats for the first 16 people!

For groups of 17 or more add $22 to the base rate per person per night. Weeks during summer are Saturday 2pm to Saturday 10am.  Pets allowed.  We are a non smoking facility- please inform your guests.

Included at no charge: Washer and 2 dryers, three fishing boats with electric trolling motors and batteries, 2 paddle boats, canoe, hot tub, ping pong, foosball, air hockey, Wii game, Play Station Two, VCR with movies, satellite TV with surround sound, satellite internet for email (see details),  and lots of board games!

Rates apply to those over 2 years of age.  A non refundable $500 deposit is due upon reservation.  50% balance due 6 months prior to your trip.  The balance is due 90 days prior to your stay. There is a 50% cancellation fee if you cancel with less than 120 days notice and no refund with less than 30 days notice.  Snowmobile trips are only refunded if trails are officially closed less a $500 fee.  Rates are subject to change without notice-update 1/22/11

Deer Lake is a catch and release 40 acre wilderness lake that is surrounded by our private resort. Maximum depth is 30 feet with an average of 15 to 20 throughout the lake.  The lake is a low visibility "tanic" stained lake which is known to promote excellent game fishing.  Northern, largemouth bass, black crappie, and perch are natural to the lake.  Since 1991, we have introduced thousands of walleye to Deer Lake with great success. Trophy fishing at Deer Lake has continued due to the co-operation of all our catch and release guests. 

All of these have been caught and released in the last couple of years at Deer Lake.

In addition to our lake, you may wish to fish any of the nearby lakes.  There are too many to list here but we can say there are several Class "A" musky lakes and many other species available within a short drive of Deer Lake Resort.  Many are across the street! 

May 13th 2006 Garrett caught this nice 40" Musky and released it on nearby Rest Lake which is a 15 minute drive from Deer Lake Resort.

Our resort also has frontage and a boat with a wilderness dock (let your imagination do the rest) on Tamarack Lake to the north.  We also have a dock on our property on Birch Lake at the end of our driveway.  Birch is a 528 acre lake with a variety of fish species and is one of the Class "A" musky lakes in the area.  It is known for its smallmouth fishing although in recent years the catch has been low.  If you want to bring your own fishing or skiing boat, we have a dock on Birch Lake to accommodate you.  It is a beautiful lake to spend time on.

Our resort is surrounded by thousands of acres of paper company land.   There is no one else on the lake but you and your friends.  See the outdoor tab for more information.

Here is the winner of our first Deer Lake Resort fishing tournament.  Dan Hillerich caught this beautiful 38.5" Musky on Birch Lake 10/15/06.  Congratulations Dan!

Pete was the runner up with a 37.5" Musky!

This unbelievable 48" Musky was caught and released at Deer Lake 7/7/07 by  Chaz Evans (age 13!).  Adam Like helped bring it in.  It sounds like Chaz was surprised as he reeled in his lure and this monster almost jumped in the boat to get it.

Congratulations on the largest fish to date from Deer Lake!
